Ping hits back at Raul: Why speak for US govt?

Unethical, improper and a big lie. This was how reelectionist senator Panfilo “Ping" Lacson of the Genuine Opposition described Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez’s threat to have him extradited to the United States over an “espionage" case. “Unang una, kasinungalingan sinasabi niya. Hindi ako ang mastermind sa pag-spy ni Michael Ray Aquino at Leandro Aragoncillo. Labag na naman sa kagandahang asal ng isang mataas na opisyal ang manghimasok sa judicial process sa America (First of all, his claim that I masterminded Aquino and Aragoncillo’s espionage case is a big lie. Second, Gonzalez again violated ethics and showed disregard for American judicial processes)," Lacson told ABC-5 television on Tuesday. He said Gonzalez’s claim he will push for his extradition to the US to face espionage charges there is tantamount to “dictating" on the US government. Besides, he said he has not been informed formally that he had been indicted in the case. “Ang propriety pag tinapon mo sa bintana walang patutunguhan (When you throw propriety out the window, you go nowhere)," he said. On the other hand, Lacson said media should instead wait for Gonzalez to actually hand out P10,000 to Iloilo village chiefs who deliver a 12-0 vote for administration senatorial bets. Last Monday, Lacson lodged charges against Gonzalez for violating the anti-graft law and for corruption of public officers. “Sana maging mapagmatyag ang media at abangan ang pagbigay ng P10,000. Ang malungkot ang barangay captain madadamay sa kaso once consummate niya ang pagbigay ng bribe (I hope media will be alert and record the payment. But the sad part is that barangay chairmen will be dragged into the case)," he said. - GMANews.TV
